It is planned to open the forth shopping mall “METRO” in Kuban

Veniamin Kondratyev, Governor of Krasnodar region, and Martin Sñhumañher, Director General of «Metro Cash & Carry» in Russia, discussed the collaboration between the region and the German company at Saint-Petersburg International Economic Forum 2021.

Now, three shopping malls are operating in the region – in Krasnodar and Novorossiysk.

– Millions of tourists visit our region on an annual basis. The deficit in the area of accommodation and services elevates prices; the cost of food products in resort places grows too. Opening of a global level hypermarket would enable to develop healthy competition and keep down prices on products. We are ready to assist with the selection of a site and envisage financial preferences, - stated Veniamin Kondratyev.

He noted that the region expects to broader the assortment in shopping chains «METRO» at the expense of local production commodities.

Director General of «METRO Cash & Carry» in Russia noted that the company plans to open hypermarkets, including the ones of the Black Sea coast.

– Sochi is a year-round resort of high level, and we would be willing to open a hypermarket there or a warehouse with an opportunity of delivery across the city. Also, we handle the option of expanding the presence of local producers in our chain, - stated Martin Schumacher.
